Administrative Assistant - Cari DeBoer

Cari DeBoer began her time with the Coroner's Office as an intern in the Fall of 2005. In January of 2006, a position opened in the Office for an administrative assistant.  Cari applied for the position and has been with the Coroner's Office since.  During her time with the Office, she has attended various death investigation seminars.


Deputy Coroner - Ron Brown

Ron Brown joined the Coroner's Office as a part-time medico-legal death investigator in April of 2001.  He brought with him 4 years of Air Force experience and 15 years experience as a registered nurse with a focus on critical care.  In May of 2005, Ron became a full-time member of the Office.  He has completed a Medicolegal Death Investigations Course pertinent to his position.  He has also completed the NIMS IS-700.


Deputy Coroner - Stephanie Jackson

Stephanie Jackson began her time with the Coroner's Office in December of 2008.  Prior to joining the Coroner's Office, Stephanie spent the past 4 years working for the County Board. She was born and raised in the area and is raising a family of her own here.  Stephanie is looking forward to spending the next 20+ years working at the Coroner's Office.  She has completed Medicolegal Death Investigation Training.


 


Deputy Coroner - Mark Posing

Mark Posing began his career as a local firefighter in 1984.  During his time as a firefighter, he was certified as a fire service and EMS instructor for the State of Illinois.  He was also trained in hazardous materials operations and technical rescue. In April of 2004, Mark joined the Coroner's Office as a deputy Coroner, bringing with him his extensive medical and fire knowledge.  He has since attended Medicolegal Death Investigation Training.  He has completed the NIMS IS-700.


 


Deputy Coroner - Bill Perkins

William Perkins began with the Coroner's Office in February of 2007. In conjunction with working for the Coroner's Office, he also works full time as a Lieutenant with Manteno Fire District.  He has over two decades of experience in fire and emergency medical service.  He has extensive training in hazardous materials, is a fire service instructor, and has completed Basic Mandated Firearms Training, Medicolegal Death Investigation Training, and National Fire Academy Command and General Staff Training.  He has also completed the NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses.


Deputy Coroner - Eric Cavender

In December of 2008, Eric Cavender joined the coroners office as a part time Deputy Coroner.  Eric was born and raised in Momence where he currently lives. He is a 2010 graduate of Kankakee Community College and graduated in May of 2011 from Carl Sandburg College with his degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service.  In addition to working for the Coroners Office, Eric has also worked at Cotter Funeral Home in Momence since 2006.  Eric is looking forward to spending many years with the Coroners office.
